Privacy Policy
This policy explains how LearningDale handles information when schools, teachers, students and other authorised users use our educational platform.
Last updated 5 September 2026
1. About LearningDale
LearningDale is a school-managed educational platform operated by LearningDale Education Private Limited. Schools provision access for teachers, students and administrators. LearningDale helps capture classroom teaching and generate revision material such as summaries, key points, flashcards and quizzes for teacher review and student learning.
2. Information we collect
We collect information that schools provide, that users provide while using LearningDale, and that is created when people use the service. Categories currently used by the product include account and profile details, school membership, class and subject associations, educational content, classroom recordings and images where teachers use those features, messages, learning activity, a device push token if notifications are enabled, and technical logs needed to operate the service.
3. Information provided by schools and institutions
Schools typically create and manage accounts. A school may provide names, mobile numbers, email addresses where used, roles, class or section membership, staff designations, and other administrative records needed to operate LearningDale for that school.
4. Account and profile information
- Name and display name
- Mobile number used to sign in with a one-time passcode
- Email address where the school or user has provided one
- Internal account identifiers
- Role or profile, such as teacher, student, parent or administrator
- School or institute membership
5. Educational and learning activity
Depending on the features a school enables, LearningDale may store class schedules, teaching records, published revisions, quiz or practice activity, and related learning progress. Student mobile learning features may be more limited than the web application.
6. Classroom recordings, images and uploaded materials
Teachers may record classroom audio and capture photos of board work or notes. Teachers may also upload educational files when creating revision material. Recordings may include teacher speech and, in a classroom setting, student voices. Photos may include writing on a board and, in some cases, names or other information visible in the classroom.
Schools remain responsible for classroom recording policies and any notices or permissions required for their students. A school can keep classroom recording off, or allow it only when that school’s current recording authorisation is in place for the enrolled students in the section. Withdrawing an authorisation stops future recording. It does not by itself erase recordings already made.
7. Communications
LearningDale includes school messaging. Messages, participant lists and, where used, attachments are stored so authorised school users can communicate. Messaging is intended for school and classroom use, not as a public social network.
8. How LearningDale uses AI and automated processing
LearningDale uses automated and AI services to transcribe class audio, extract text from images, and generate educational revision material. Teachers are expected to review generated content before it is published to students. AI providers process content as service providers to operate these features. This policy does not claim that content is never processed by third-party cloud or AI systems. Generated notes, practice material, and derived machine-readable representations used to search that material remain connected to the school content they came from.
9. How information is used
- Provide, maintain and improve the LearningDale service
- Authenticate users and manage school-provisioned access
- Create, review and publish educational revision material
- Support school administration, teaching and student learning
- Communicate about the service, including support and optional push notifications such as new messages or completed class work
- Protect security, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations
10. Service providers and sub-processors
We use cloud infrastructure, storage, and AI or transcription providers to run LearningDale. These providers process information on our instructions to deliver the service. We do not treat that processing as a sale of personal data. Current infrastructure includes Google Cloud services. AI processing may include Google Gemini / Vertex AI and, where configured, other model providers such as OpenAI. Mobile push notifications, when enabled, are sent through Expo’s push service, which uses Apple and Google device notification services.
11. Data sharing
We share information with the user’s school administrators and other authorised school users as needed for the educational service. We share information with service providers who process it to operate LearningDale. We may share information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a reorganisation of the company, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal data.
12. Data security
We use administrative, technical and organisational measures designed to protect information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and authenticated sessions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
13. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service to the school, to meet school or legal record-keeping needs, and to resolve disputes or enforce our terms. Exact retention periods may vary by record type and school arrangement.
14. Account and data removal requests
Because many LearningDale accounts are school-managed, we do not offer an instant consumer-style account deletion that would silently remove school records. You can request removal of personal data associated with your LearningDale account in the mobile app under Settings → Privacy & Security → Request account/data removal, or by emailing privacy@learningdale.com. Some educational or administrative records may need to be handled by your school or retained where required. You can also ask to access or correct personal data, withdraw a recording or data authorisation, or raise a privacy grievance. We do not promise immediate deletion or a fixed turnaround time.
See also our account and data removal page.
15. Children and school-managed accounts
Students using LearningDale are typically minors whose access is provisioned by their school. LearningDale is designed as a school service, not as an open consumer app for children to self-register. Schools are responsible for determining who may access LearningDale and for any notices to parents or guardians required by their policies or applicable law.
16. School and institution responsibilities
Schools decide which staff and students receive access, how classroom recording is used, and how generated revision is reviewed before students see it. Schools should only upload or record material they are authorised to use for educational purposes.
17. International and cloud processing
LearningDale is operated using cloud infrastructure. Information may be processed in India and in other locations where our service providers operate. If we expand to additional countries, we will update this policy and any required transfer safeguards.
18. User choices and rights
You may request access to or removal of personal data associated with your account as described above. School-managed records may require the school’s involvement. Depending on applicable law, additional rights may apply. Contact privacy@learningdale.com to make a request.
19. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product and legal requirements evolve. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes will be communicated in a manner appropriate to the service, such as an in-product notice or an update to this page.
